Selling as a favor for a friend who was gifted a much newer car, plus it was already a spare so he let the inspection lapse in November.
(He isn't a "car guy" whereas I used to work in the business).
Personally, I think this is a lot of car for the money - the tires and alloy wheels alone are worth the price.
The good: Built in Germany, starts right up, drives great, plenty of power from the legendary V6, no misfires.
No rust or body damage.
4 NEW TIRES (General), fluids good, brakes and suspension good.
A/C blows cold.
I wouldn't hesitate to drive this thing across the country tomorrow, despite the high mileage.
The less good: Interior is fairly beat (note seat covers), peeling clear coat, driver's window and passenger rear window don't work (regulators, very common).
Yes, you may have to put a little bit of money into it (depending on your mechanic) in order to get it to pass inspection - the muffler is loud, and the CEL is on.
I can take it to the auto parts store and pull the code, or even pay my mechanic
$50 to see what it needs, but I'd rather sell it quickly for him at a fair price - it's effectively an Audi A6 for the price of a used lawn tractor.
Plus the longer I have it, the more tempted I may be to get it painted and add it to my garage which the wife wouldn't like one bit ;-) No scammers, no AI chatbots, serious inquiries only please.
