Job Description
The Front End Assistant Manager has a thorough working knowledge of the complete register system, desk and office, while also performing duties directed by the Front-End Manager.
It is essential as the Front-End Assistant Manager, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities.
You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service.
Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity’s Supermarkets.
Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with return transactions, lottery, and any other cash office needs.
Competent knowledge and understanding of all Essential Functions of a cashier and desk person
Record sales readings at designated times
Responsible for balancing procedures for all cashier drawers
Responsible for balancing of the safe and its contents
Responsible for maintaining and securing the office and all its contents
Maintains pricing accuracy as deemed necessary
Assist in training designated personnel when assigned
Will communicate all promotional and/or company policies or changes of policy to all appropriate Front End Personnel
Maintain full knowledge of proper maintenance procedures for all Front End equipment
Will be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
Comply fully with all safety policies and procedures
Limit and/or eliminate any drawer shortages
Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times while working and strictly adhere to the Dress Code policy
Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department
Will comply with all policies contained within the Employee Handbook
All areas as designated within the Essential Functions of your job responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and taste or smell
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus
Must be able to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and talk or hear
Must be at least 18 years old
