*Job Summary:*
The Packaging Floor Supervisor will ensure the cleanliness and efficiency of production in the packaging area.
The Packaging Floor Supervisor is responsible for enforcing all food safety and quality conformance standards, monitoring supply chain efficacy and enforcing labor standards.
*Primary Duties:*
· Identify, train and supervise line leads.
· Enforce labor standards and train line leads on how to properly staff/ set up lines.
· Assist in hiring/identifying and training machine operators and pace setters.
· Ensure appropriate labor deployment.
This includes scheduling line leads, machine operators and packers based on the production schedule.
Reduce labor where possible.
· Communicate yield standards and expectations to line leads, monitor line speeds/efficiencies and track productivity throughout shifts – work with the process supervisor when adjustments are needed to achieve standards.
· Monitor line lead production reporting and productivity tracking.
· Monitor product and packaging/labeling conformance; communicate issues to the process supervisor, quality control and management when needed.
· Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and kept clean – communicate issues and concerns to maintenance.
· Monitor supply chain and flow of materials on and off of the manufacturing floor – report issues to inventory control manager, manufacturing manager and logistics manager as needed.
· Enforce processes put in place for requesting materials: supervisors must request the materials they will need one hour prior to when they will need it.
· Enforce processes put in place for returning items to inventory: all packaging must been counted and “green tagged” immediately following completion of the item.
All other materials and WIP that will not be used within 48 hours must be checked for proper documentation (i.
e.
green tags, lot tickets, hold tags) and sent to the warehouse.
· Confirm that all packaging that will be needed on the next shift has been identified and staged.
· Enforce all GMPs and safety regulations.
· Maintain cGMP Hygiene awareness, allergen awareness and food safety practices.
· Participate in SQF, Organic, Gluten Free, and regulatory audits when required.
*Job Qualifications:*
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3-5 years line lead/supervisor experience.
Ability to speak, write and read English required; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
*Physical Demands:*
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
and have no restrictions on walking, standing or climbing stairs.
