Equipment operator for a scrap yard

Your Purpose:
You will operate a mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear to process scrap materials, load/unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap from one area to another.
Your Work:
- Inspect mobile shear, magnet crane, and stationary shear daily and documents on checklists to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
- Perform preventive maintenance such as lubrication, greasing, fueling, and keeping cab clean.
- Inspect for proper scrap grade and safety and environmental concerns such as tanks, cylinders, etc.
- Shear unprepared material into prepared state identifying size, thickness, and physical dimensions.
- Use magnet crane to load/unload scrap from customer vehicles into appropriate piles or railcars in order to process for shipping.
- Use mobile equipment to lift and move scrap from one area of the yard to another.
Monday-Friday 7am-4:00pm Saturday 7-12pm
Hourly: $20.

```Duties```
- Operate and control cranes to lift, move, and position heavy objects and materials
- Inspect cranes and related equipment before each use to ensure proper functioning and safety
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the crane
- Communicate with team members to coordinate lifting operations and ensure safe movement of materials
- Use hand signals or radios to communicate with ground crew during lifting operations
- Perform routine maintenance on cranes, such as lubricating parts and replacing worn-out components
- Keep accurate records of crane operations, maintenance activities, and any incidents or accidents that occur
```Requirements```
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of crane operation principles
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating heavy equipment, such as boom trucks, rigging equipment, and backhoes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and load charts
- Strong spatial awareness and depth perception for precise movement of materials
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating controls
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures is a plus
