East Penn is seeking a Materials Coordinator/WIP, who will be responsible for the coordination of work in process (WIP) for East Penn Manufacturing’s dry unfinished (DUF) battery products.
Expedites the flow of materials, parts and DUF batteries between facilities/departments based on specified priorities for production and shipping schedules.
Monitors material requirements and tracks movement with purchasing, production, and warehouses.
Maintains stock transfer order files.
Collaborates with facility/department management and schedulers, adapting day-to-day requirements ensuring daily demands are met.
Responsibilities: Primary Job Description: Requisitions material and establishes sequential department delivery dates according to job priorities and material availability.
Provides material movement details to cross-functional areas, including plant operations, quality, and management teams.
Arranges stock transfer orders by priority to meet production schedules.
Compiles and maintains detailed information on stock transfer orders, such as material inventory, in-process and/or non-conformance product as well as the status and location of materials needed.
Ensures the most efficient movement of product from storage locations to manufacturing process, working with inventory management to ensure we have available storage space within key areas.
Coordinates direct shipments to offsite filling/storage locations.
Develops controls within the inventory system, tracking data, ensuring the faster moving SKUs are positioned throughout our network effectively which meet our forecasted demands Works with plant management to resolve supply issues, regarding procedural changes, labor constraints, product shortages, space, etc.
Creates and updates all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the job.
Reports on monthly/quarterly/yearly KPI’s as required.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
Qualifications: Experience & Qualifications: Associates or bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred; equivalent level of education, training, and experience may be considered 3-5 years of related experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment, required Working knowledge of material management software/platforms Scheduling/planning experience, preferred East Penn work experience that includes knowledge of EP procedures and practices, preferred Skills & Competencies: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues, escalate appropriately for resolution Demonstrates an underlying desire to solve problems and contribute to improving how we operate Effective written and verbal communication skills including presentation abilities Exceptional interpersonal skills: a team player with proven ability to work across functional areas and all levels of the organization Able to manage multiple tasks, projects simultaneously and shift priorities when needs change Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; can effectively listen and give directions accurately Open to coaching with the ability to apply feedback Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Office East Penn Benefits: East Penn offers excellent benefits: Competitive compensation Group health insurance that includes high quality medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage with a low employee premium Retirement Savings Plan with company match and a 3% employer contribution 9 paid company holidays, 2 paid personal holidays, and 10 paid vacation days annually Employee assistance program Fitness Discounts Promotional opportunities
